It was great to see everyone (almost) come up with an exercise to share with the old folks. Did anyone else notice that there was an uncle who was like the monitor of the class... he was always leading the counting and making sure everything went on smoothly. Thats what i hope some of you can try to do...(not be an old uncle) but a leader who can make sure everyone else is doing the proper thing!
Some groups were very well prepared..eg Doris and team who made the puppets.. Christine and team who had songs to sing at the end and kept the old folks busy with their simple art..and LiXuan and gang who were able to inspire some uncles to draw well even though they were not able to see well......
There were also individuals who were brave enough to entertain the old folks on their own...Sabrina and the old auntie playing some checkers or something game....( I could hear sabrina teaching the auntie how to play), and Berenice who was playing pick up sticks with another uncle. He was really enjoying himself and he looked like he tried very hard to get as many sticks as possible!
Andy was being a green monitor at the old folks home and helped them plant some seeds in cups...I wonder how long they will keep the plants for?!!
Most of you did well and hopefully we were able to spread some joy to the old folks there.
I hope you also realise how important proper planning is now. Some of you took for granted the fact that the old folks would do any activity you suggest and in the end you got stuck with nothing to do when they didn't want to do your activity. Some others did not plan on how to teach the old folks your games and what exactly to say to them so your activity did not go as planned. So hopefully next time you will all put more effort when planning an activity insetead of just assuming everything will go smoothly.
Anyway, since there are no pictures taken there( not allowed to !!) here are some pics of ME and my friend Mr Faizal at a fish spa getting our legs eaten up by the doctor fish. It treally made our legs smoother and softer!
Af first, we tried the pool with the small fishes. See how many of them were feeding on my dead skin?! It felt very similar to getting small vibrations on my legs and toes.
After testing with the small fishes, we decided to be brave and go to the pool with the huge fishes. See how big they were! It didn't feel like small vibrations anymore.. More like big squeezes of an Osim Machine. The fishes really like my toes. I was worried they would choke on my toe ring. HAHA.
Mr Faizal had even more fishes coming to him after they were all done with my legs..
So, do keep your posts coming about the OLD FOLKS HOME trip and then you can post up entries on any exciting activity that YOU have done before!
